'Predator on the hunt' features the yellowtail kingfish that is well known for its extreme activity especially when chasing potential prey where they can put on a spectacular show of power. The power of this fish is also reflected in the sky landscape with waves pushing along in the same direction. This natural phenomenon presented itself during the start of Covid 19 and the subsequent lockdown in New Zealand which inspired the original painting.
